JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police have released the name of the victim in the shooting death that took place late Thursday afternoon on the city’s north side.
Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson sent out a media release Friday morning identifying the victim as 28 year-old Obryan Ramos. Samuelson also says the suspect involved in the shooting, who still remains at large, may have had a dispute with Ramos earlier in the day or days prior. Investigators are asking anyone who may have information into witnessing the dispute or who may have information on the suspect to call them at (716) 483-7537 or the anonymous tip line at 483-Tips (8477).
The shooting occurred at 853 Prendergast Ave. at about 5:45 p.m. According to Samuelson, Ramos was shot multiple times as he stood on a porch. The shooter, who is described as being black or Hispanic and wearing dark clothes, reportedly walked up to the porch from an area behind the house and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing on foot. Ramos was taken to WCA Hospital via Alstar ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.
