JAMESTOWN – City police have released the name of the suspect connected to a shooting that took place Tuesday night, Sept. 2 on East Second St. behind the Appleyard Terrace housing complex.
According to a media release sent out late Wednesday morning by JPD Captain Robert Samuelson, police are trying to locate 20 year old Trenton L. Grant (pictured right), who is wanted for questioning in the shooting that took place at 7:30 p.m. at Appleyard Terrace.
According to police, it is believed that Grant is still in the Jamestown area and is considered armed and dangerous. Charges against Grant for the shooting of the unidentified victim are pending. The victim was sent to UPMC Hamot in Erie for treatment of two gunshot wounds. His status is unknown at this time.
Police also say that Grant is wanted by the Lakewood-Busti Police for a separate burglary that occurred last week, Aug. 28, in Lakewood where a handgun, safe, lap-top computer and jewelry were taken from a home. Lakewood-Busti Police were able to recover the safe and the lap-top computer at two separate locations in Jamestown.
The handgun that was taken from the residence in Lakewood was recovered by the Jamestown Police Department near the scene of the shooting on Tuesday night and is believed to be the weapon that was used to shoot the victim as he walked behind Appleyard Terrace.
Also wanted in connection to the burglary in Lakewood is 20 year-0ld Isaiah Pearson (pictured left). Police say both Grant and Pearson currently have outstanding warrants for burglary and grand larceny and are possibly together attempting to avoid apprehension from authorities.
