JAMESTOWN – A city man is in the county jail on charges stemming from a an alleged disturbing and violent sexual assault incident.
On Thursday, Feb. 12, Jamestown Police were called to investigate a violent domestic incident that occurred at a N. Main St. residence in Jamestown.
According to police, a female victim was reportedly held against her will and was repeatedly sexually assaulted, beaten and threatened with a loaded handgun over a several-hour period that began on Wednesday night.
The victim was able to get away from the residence and stopped by a nearby business to report what had happened.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as 29 year-old Kim Chung Erving. He was located and taken into custody by Jamestown Police Thursday night.
Erving faces several charges, including 1st degree criminal sex act, strangulation, menacing, unlawful imprisonment and assault. Charges of weapons possession and stolen property are also pending, with a gun located at the scene reportedly being stolen in Michigan. Erving was arraigned and sent to the county jail.
