JAMESTOWN – The city Planning Commission is meeting Tuesday at city hall to continue its review of site plans for the Northwest Arena expansion project.
According to the meeting agenda, the commission will continue site plan review and discussion for the 16,500 sq ft footprint addition to the Ice Arena, which includes retail and food court on the lower floor, kids play area on the second floor, and office space on the third floor. The expansion would involve the city eliminating parking spaces on W. Second St. – along the south side of the Arena – to accommodate the expansion. The city council has already given its approval on the abandonment, pending final site plan approval by the planning commission.
The commission will also review and discuss additional parking spaces being added to an existing lot for the Resource Center. However, the resource center owns several pieces of property in the city and there is no indication on the agenda as to where the parking lot is currently located.
Tuesday’s meeting begins at 4:15 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room, 4th floor of city hall, and is open to the public.
