CHERRY CREEK – Students at Pine Valley central school who want to play football this fall will be able to do so. That’s according to a report from Time Warner Cable News, which says the Pine Valley board Thursday night agreed to allow the varsity and JayVee squads to join up with Gowanda.
The move comes after school officials learned there were not enough interested players to fill both a JV and varsity roster and that merging with a neighboring district was the only way to keep the program alive. The agreement with Gowanda is a one-year deal.
Pine Valley players have already been practicing this entire week and starting on Monday will join the Gowanda players on the practice field.
