JAMESTOWN – Today is the final day that petitions for the Jamestown Board of Education 2014 election are due back to the Superintendent’s Office. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. this afternoon. The election will take place on May 20, 2014.
Candidates must submit a completed petition containing the names of 100 or more qualified voters within the school district. There are three open JPS board seats, each for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2014. The three seats are currently occupied by board members Paul Abbot, Shelly Leathers and Tom Pope.
Also, if a person is not registered to vote, but wants to vote in the May 20 School Election, Jamestown Public School’s registration day will be held today from noon to 6 p.m. in the Administration Building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown, New York.
Non-registered voters should present themselves, in person, before the JPS District Clerk with proof of identity and proof of address on May 1st in order to be entitled to vote on May 20, 2014.
