JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua County Humane Society has launched the 13th annual Pennies 4 Paws campaign.
The fundraiser got underway on Feb. 12 and will run through the end of April.
This year’s campaign will benefit the animals at the humane society significantly by providing essential care and rehabilitation to animals in need of help.
On average, it costs the humane society $600 a week to feed the animals that are at the shelter and in foster care.
In 2017, the humane society took in 1,614 animals that came with a variety of needs including food, shelter, medical care, training supplies, and love.
The Pennies 4 Paws campaign hopes to collect 2.3 million pennies, or $23,000, by the end of the campaign.
