MAYVILLE – A Jamestown man who was recently convicted of 31 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of first-degree manslaughter has found himself in more trouble with the law. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office says 41 year old Gregory Pattison was charged with second-degree assault for allegedly attacking another inmate while being held at the county jail in Mayville. The incident took place on Friday morning and resulted in the inmate receiving facial and head injuries. Pattison will appear in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date
Pattison was initially charged and convicted of murder for his role in the 2001 contract killing of two men in the town of Gerry. Due to a technicality, his 2002 conviction was overturned by an appeal. Last month he pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree manslaughter in the case prior to a new trial getting underway.
