MAYVILLE – The Jamestown man arrested earlier this month in the largest individual drug seizure in the city’s history is pleading not guilty to the related charges.
According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, On Monday 34-year-old Juan Pacheco Jr. appeared in Chautauqua County Court and entered a plea of not guilty for each of the six charges that were filed against him.
Pacheco was arrested on Aug. 18 after police found 15 kilos of narcotics at a residence at 477 S. Main St. Police said the drugs – which included nine kilos of cocaine, 3.5 kilos of methamphetamine, 2.5 kilos of marijuana – had an estimated street value of $2.4 million. $140,000 in cash was also found in the home.
During the court appearance the Chautauqua County DA’s office recommended no bail for Pacheco, indicating he was an extreme flight risk. However, Bail was set $300,000 cash.
Meanwhile the Dunkirk man accused of kidnapping an autistic teenager has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree kidnapping charge.
The Post Journal is reporting that 38 year-old Samuel Saeli was arraigned Monday in Chautauqua County Court. He was charged with second-degree kidnapping – a class B violent felony – after allegedly luring a 13-year-old autistic boy out of the Fredonia Walmart on Aug. 14.
Following his court appearance, Saeli was sent back to the County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail.
