JAMESTOWN – Organizers held another meeting Tuesday at the Jamestown East Side YMCA to further discuss the renovation effort at Lillian Dickson Park on the city’s east side. The park is located at the corner of Sturges and Falconer Streets.
The renovation effort is being assisted by the Chautauqua Health Network’s Creating Healthy Places initiative, would like to improve the playground equipment and also work to make it a safe place for children and families in the neighborhood. Last night organizers discussed various fundraising initiatives and set a goal of $30,000 to be raised over the next year to help cover the cost of renovating the park. The Chautauqua Health Network has already committed $4500 of its Creating Healthy Places funding toward the project.
The next meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on April 17 at the park if the weather is nice. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be at the east side YMCA. Organizers hope to continue to discuss various fundraising initiatives. The meeting is open to the public and the community is encouraged to attend.
