MAYVILLE – An Ohio woman was arrested over the weekend for Snowmobiling while intoxicated after she crashed her snowmobile into an ice fishing shanty on Chautauqua Lake.
According to the county sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a crash that occurred at about 1 a.m. Saturday on Chautauqua Lake near Mayville. Investigators say 31 year-old Christina Black of Burghill Ohio was operating a 2006 Ski-Doo northbound about 200 yards from the shoreline when she struck an ice fishing shanty, narrowly missing three male subjects fishing a short distance away. The shanty, along with a significant amount of equipment was damaged or destroyed. No injuries were reported.
Following an investigation, Black was arrested on several charges, including snowmobiling while intoxicated and not operating at minimum speed within 100 feet of a person or an ice fishing shanty. She will answer the charges in Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
