ELLINGTON, NY – An Ohio man was sent to the county jail early Friday morning after being involved in a vehicle pursuit with Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies.
According to a police report, deputies were involved in a lengthy vehicle pursuit through several roads in the Town of Ellington at about 5:45 a.m. Friday morning. The pursuit began due to the suspect driver not complying with a traffic stop stemming from an investigation into a suspicious situation.
The driver was identified as 39 year-old Jay Head of Uniontown, Ohio. During the course of the vehicle pursuit, deputies say Head struck a Chautauqua County Sheriff patrol vehicle, causing substantial damage. After a 10 minute pursuit, Head’s vehicle was finally stopped and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Head faces several charges, including charged with Reckless driving, Reckless Endangerment, and DWAI by Drugs. He was later arraigned and sent to the county Jail on bail.
