(length: 15 minutes, 8 seconds)
Being held are 34 year-old Davide Coggins, 21 year-old Joshua McCormick, 18 year-old Ricky Knickerbocker and 18 year-old Steven Todd – all of Elmira.
The four are allegedly connected to a home invasion and subsequent death of Carroll residents Gordon Skinner, 66, and Joyce Skinner, 59, during the morning hours of April 17, 2013 in their Wheeler Hill Rd. residence.
Gerace and Foley would not offer many details into the incident and it remains under investigation, only to say they have probable cause that the four men are connected to the crime. Sheriff Gerace also said this was not a random home invasion, although he would not provide any details nor would he confirm if the Skinners were connected to any one of the four individuals.
Gerace and Foley also would not comment on the cause of death, only to say that no firearm was used in the death. The Sheriff did say it was one of the most “disturbing and troubling” incidents he’s encountered in his 34 years of law enforcement.
The Sheriff and D.A. are also asking local residents to contact them immediately if they had either seen the suspects or their vehicle – a 2003 Tan Pontiac Grand Am – in the area on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
