JAMESTOWN – Prendergast Library will celebrate National Library Week April 12-18 by offering a variety of activities for children and adults and performances by two special guests.
Mayor Sam Teresi will share “Green Eggs and Ham” and “The Giving Tree” with children 3 to 5 and their parents, caregivers and siblings when he appears as the guest reader for early learning story time at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, local author Paul Leone will perform “When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom’d” by Walt Whitman in observance of National Poetry Month and the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s death on April 15, 1865. Providing a musical interpretation of the elegy will be Kerry, Marian and Lydia Byard playing the flute, cello and violin.
