JAMESTOWN – An historic event for WCA Hospital will be taking place this weekend. On Sunday, members of the hospital staff and the public will be on hand for the Grand Opening celebration of the “new” 21st Century Emergency Department. The event will run from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
According to WCA Spokesperson Karl Sisson, everyone is invited to attend the community event, which begins with a ribbon cutting and then will be followed by an open house until 4 p.m. He adds that when people do attend, they will quickly notice just how advanced the new ER is, with space and equipment to handle any and all emergencies the community and region could be faced with.
Other events include self-guided tours, an opportunity to meet with physicians and staff, a Teddy Bear Clinic and Kids Activity Center and an art unveiling from local artists Charlene Kidder and William Disbro. Live music will also be provided by Bill Ward, Joseph Iuculano, and Rhonda Schwob. Food and refreshments will also be provided.
