A walk to raise awareness for suicide prevention is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Falconer and residents are encouraged to attend. The Out of the Darkness Community Walk at Falconer High School is a 3 to 5 mile walk and one more than 250 taking place across the country.
The event is being coordinated by Chautauqua Tapestry, with proceeds benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Chautauqua Tapestry spokesperson Lexi Bishop Baglia said that by walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walks, participants will be walking with thousands of other walkers nationwide to raise money for research and education programs to prevent suicide.
