MORNING NEWS: Visitors Bureau to Host ‘Chautauqua in June’ Starting Next Week

May 24, 2013 By WRFA Radio Leave a Comment

MAYVILLE – Chautauqua In June is back! For the third year in a row, the Chautauqua County Visitors’ Bureau is proud to provide Chautauqua In June, a two-week festival of learning that features a broad range of classes from food to photography. You can enjoy a farm-to-table culinary adventure, become a brewer for a day, or learn about other creative pursuits or outdoor recreation.

More than 20 workshops are offered to suit a wide array of tastes and interests.  Chautauqua In June was founded as an extension of the Chautauqua:  The World’s Learning Center branding initiative. Promoted regionally in Buffalo, Erie, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, the festival courses have seen anywhere from 35 percent to 58 percent of attendees from outside of Chautauqua County. In addition, the learning festival has spawned a subsequent Colors of Chautauqua event in autumn.

These festivals are just one way Chautauqua County has been working to improve its standing as a tourism destination, not just during the peak summer season, but all year round.  If you are interested in taking one of the classes, sign up quickly.  Some of them do sell out.  Chautauqua In June this year runs from May 31 to June 16.  You can learn more on the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau web site at www.tourchautauqua.com or call the CCVB office at 716-357-4569.
