BUSTI – The three Busti residents allegedly involved in a pot-growing bust late last month have formally been charged by authorities. A report from today’s Jamestown Post-Journal say 31 year-old John Boardman and 29 year-old Jennifer Grundstrom – both of 529 Busti-Sugar Grove Road – and 30 year-old Brad Strickland of 515 Busti-Sugar Grove Road face various charges.
On April 30, police seized more than 500 marijuana plants in a sophisticated growing operation at the two residences. The investigation was the result of work by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Lakewood-Busti Police.
Boardman was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawfully growing cannabis. Strickland was charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing cannabis. Grundstrom was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. She was released on her own recognizance. Bail for Boardman was set at $30,000 and bail for Strickland was set at $20,000.
