MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace has announced that the man suspected of shooting the Superintendant of Clymer Central School did not waive extradition from Virginia Back to New York. That means it could take as long as 30 days or more to bring Anthony R. Taglianetti II back to Chautauqua County to begin processing him for the murder of Keith Reed, Jr. In a media release sent out yesterday afternoon, Gerace said that Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley is handling extradition procedures.
Taglianetti was captured by police in Virgnia last Friday. He was wanted in connection to the homicide of Reed – who was reported missing on Sept. 23 and who’s body was discovered the following day near his home in Clymer. Investigators with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office say he was shot multiple times during the evening of Friday, Sept. 21.
It is believed Taglianetti drove to Clymer from his home in Virginia to shoot Reed and then returned to Virginia afterward. Authorities have not given a motive, but some media sources are reporting the shooting was the result of Taglianetti learning his wife and Reed were involved in an affair.
