CELORON – The biggest football game of the year may still be more than a week away, but area residents are being encouraged to take part in a different kind of “SOUPer Bowl” this weekend in Celoron.
On Sunday the Celoron Legion will host the 2nd annual SOUPer Bowl Sunday, featuring homemade soups created and served by several local restaurants and caterers.
Fifteen area restaurants and caterers are donating their time and talents to create homemade soups, which will be sampled by all those attending who will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. In addition to the soups, Souper Bowl Sunday will feature live music from Razz & Friends, and an outstanding benefit basket auction featuring items donated by local businesses.
All of the proceeds from this year’s Souper Bowl Sunday will once again benefit WCA Hospital and its Emergency Department capital campaign. Last year’s SOUPer Bowl Sunday raised over $3,700 to support the construction of WCA Hospital’s new Emergency Department, which is now open.
