CORNING – The man who wants to be Chautauqua County’s next representative in Congress has picked up a major endorsements. Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning) has received the National Association of Manufacturers’ (NAM) “Manufacturing Legislative Excellence” award. NAM, which is the nation’s largest manufacturing association, presented Reed with the award in Corning last week for supporting policies critical to the manufacturing industry in New York State and across the country.
According to the National Association of Manufacturers, members of Congress presented with the award have voted in support of manufacturing efforts at least 70 percent of the time. Congressman Reed is listed as voting to further manufacturing in New York State and the United States on 100 percent of the key votes identified by NAM. Key votes ranged from domestic energy production to reducing government regulations on small manufacturing businesses.
