Congressman Tom Reed (R-Corning) was in Chautauqua County yesterday afternoon for a swearing in ceremony in Mayville. The Corning republican – who had already been sworn in as the representative of the newly drawn NY 23rd Congressional District last week – was sworn in locally by Chautauqua County judge John Ward. Those in attendance included County Executive Greg Edwards, District Attorney David Foley and Sheriff Joe Gerace.
Reed says one of his top priorities to be as accessible to all constituents in his district as much as possible. He will do so by having offices in Jamestown and other locations in the 23rd district, along with holding a series of Town Hall meetings. His first meetings in Chautauqua County will be this Saturday at the Hanover Town Hall at 8 a.m., the Westfield Village Hall at 10:30, and the Carroll Town Hall at 1 p.m.
