JAMESTOWN – Officials with the Jamestown Public Schools will hold a budget hearing on the 2013-2014 school budget tonight at Percell Middle School. The $75,370,000 spending plan that was approved late last month by the board of education calls for no increase to the tax levy, nor does it include any layoffs of teachers.
In addition to discussing the 2013-2014 spending plan, the public hearing will also include details on an upcoming referendum for the district to lease-to-own several new student transportation vehicles, at a cost not to exceed $795,000.
Tonight’s public hearing begins at 7 p.m. at Persell School. The budget vote and school board election will be on May 21.
