During Wednesday night’s Chautauqua County Legislature meeting, county lawmakers approved a resolution setting a date for a public hearing on a proposed local law that would offer a tax exemption program for first-time homebuyers who purchase newly constructed homes in the county.
Prior to voting on the date for the public hearing, sponsor George Borrello (R-Irving) explained that if approved, the local law would also cover those who purchase recently renovated homes in addition to brand new ones, so long as the renovation of the property exceeded $3,000.
The public hearing for the local law will take place next month on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6:45 p.m. – during the next Chautauqua County legislature voting session.
