President Barack Obama has now officially entered his second term in office. The 51 year old was sworn into office on Sunday, with a public ceremony taking place on Monday – the same day as the country celebrated the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.
During his inauguration Speech, President Obama asserted that America’s possibilities are limitless and declared that a decade of war is ending and the nation’s economy is recovering. He also said he will work to reduce the size of the country’s deficit, as well as reduce the cost of healthcare. The president said the nation must also respond to the threat of climate change and tackle comprehensive immigration reform.
Hundreds of thousands of people fanned out across the National Mall on Monday, and millions more watched on television.
