MORNING NEWS: Police Discover Working Meth House on City’s North Side

September 20, 2013 By WRFA Radio 1 Comment

JAMESTOWN – Police in Jamestown have shut down what they say was a working meth lab in the city.

According to a report from Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson, city police were assisting Parole Officers from the NY State Parole division at about 9 a.m. Thursday morning. The group made a stop at 19 Grossman Street, where they came across what appeared to be a working methamphetamine lab.

After discovering the lab, officers secured the area and investigators from the NY State Police were called in to assist in the investigation and to secure the lab itself. Officers from the Jamestown, NY State Police and the Jamestown Fire Department remained on the scene securing the lab into Thursday night.

The report did not state if anyone was in the home at the time the meth lab was discovered, nor did it say any charges were placed against the occupant or homeowner. Police do say that charges are pending upon further investigation and more details will be released later today.
