A nationwide manhunt is in place for a Virginia man wanted for the murder of the superintendent of Clymer Central Schools. Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace and District Attorney David Foley held a joint press conference yesterday afternoon and announced they are searching for 42-year-old Anthony Robert Taglianetti II of Woodbridge, Virginia. Taglianetti is wanted in connection to the homicide of 51-year-old Keith Reed Jr. – who was reported missing on Sept. 23 and who’s body was discovered the following day near his home in Clymer. Investigators with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office say he was shot multiple times last Friday night.
Gerace and Foley would only say there was a connection between the men and that this was not a random act of violence. The two also said the suspect has no other ties to Western New York and came here specifically to carry out the shooting. However, they would not comment on a motive. They believe that Taglianetti has since fled the state and may be back in Virginia. They consider him armed and dangerous.
Authorities released a photo of Taglianetti and have put out a national all points bulletin. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department at (716) 753-4231 or (716) 661-7231.
