JAMESTOWN – Petitions will be available beginning Friday, March 29 for the Jamestown Board of Education Election on May 21. A total of two board seats are open, with both having three-year terms to begin July 1, 2013.
To qualify as a candidate, a person must be a citizen of the United States and a registered voter of the Jamestown City School District who has resided in said district for at least one year prior to the date of the election.
Any individuals interested in becoming school board member candidates, must submit completed petitions containing the names of 100 or more qualified voters within the school district. These must be received in the Superintendent’ Office by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013.
Petitions are available in the Superintendent’s Office in the school Administration building, located at Jefferson School.
