JAMESTOWN – The Roger Tory Peterson Institute is inviting the public to a reception to open a new, major exhibition, entitled “America’s Parks Through The Beauty Of Art.” The opening reception will take place this Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
The exhibit will continue to be shown at RTPI through July 28. The juried exhibition features over 50 original works depicting scenes in parks of all kinds in the United States as well as Canada and Mexico.
RTPI also is showing an incredible display of fossils including a Columbian Mammoth excavated in Randolph, New York and additional art from the life work of Roger Tory Peterson.
The Institute is located at 311 Curtis Street in Jamestown and is open to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sundays 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
