MAYVILLE – The man accused of killing the superintendent Clymer Central School should be in Chautauqua County to face his charges by the end of this month. That from District Attorney David Foley, who announced in a media release Monday that Anthony “Rob” Taglianetti did not file for a writ of habeas orpus in Prince William County, Virginia. As a result, he is now eligible for immediate return to Chautauqua County to answer to the charge of Murder in the Second for the September shooting death of Clymer Superintendent Keith Reed. A writ of habeas corpus is filed when a defendant wishes to have a reason formally given as to why he is being detained.
Foley says that authorities now have until January 4 to go to Virginia and extadite Taglianetti to Chautauqua County and he expects that will happen within the next week.
Authorities believe Taglianetti allegedly drove to Clymer from his home in Virginia in September to shoot Reed, and then returned to Virginia afterward. Police have yet to give a motive, but some media sources are reporting the shooting was the result of Taglianetti learning his wife and Reed were involved in an affair.
