CLYMER – A Mayville woman has been indicted by a grand jury in connection to the robbery of a credit union that took place last April in the town of Clymer. District Attorney David Foley’s office says 35 year-old Jenifer Gens was indicted by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury on one count of Robbery in the Third Degree. Gens is accused of the April 17 robbery of the Southern Tier Credit Union located in Clymer. She allegedly entered the Bank and handed a teller a note demanding money and indicating that she had a gun. Gens escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The New York State Police and the Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office investigated the crime, culminating with a direct presentment to the Grand Jury. The Defendant was arraigned in Chautauqua County Court, with bail set at $75,000.00 cash. A pre-motion conference is scheduled for August 6. The DA’s office says a robbery in the Third Degree is a class D Felony and carries a maximum sentence of 2 1/3 to 7 years in state prison.
