JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man was taken t the Hospital Thursday afternoon after being hit by a van. The Jamestown Post-Journal is reporting today that the incident took place in front of Love Elementary School at the intersection of North Main Street and East Eighth Street at 3:20 p.m. Police say 33-year-old Mark Briggs of Jamestown was traveling westbound on East Eighth Street when he turned left onto North Main Street and collided with a pedestrian, who was in the cross walk and walking his dog across the street.
The pedestrian was taken to WCA Hospital for what were considered to be non-life-threatening injuries while the dog was taken by a relative to a local veterinarian. Briggs was charged with failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian and failure to use due care and will appear in court at a later date.
