ALBANY – The Jamestown Post-Journal this morning is reporting that fewer third- through eighth-grade children in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties are meeting state standards in English Language Arts and math. Students also scored lower than students statewide at nearly every grade level on ELA and math. While the local student scores were lower compared to last year, there was a slight increase in the percentage of students meeting standards across the state.
