JAMESTOWN – The James Prendergast Library system board of trustees will be holding its regular meeting this afternoon shortly after noon.
Among the items the library board will continue its discussion today of splitting the director position. Currently, the library executive director – a position currently held by acting director Tina Scott – also serves as the executive director of the entire Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System. However, their has been discussion involving the position, with a possible goal of creating a separate director for the system, which would act independently of the Prendergast. It’s been reported that the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System board has already voted in favor of separating the two positions, and now the Prendergast Library board may also act on the issue during today’s meeting.
The annual audit of the library is also expected to be delivered today by CPA Jim Vanstrom.
Today’s meeting begins at 12:15 p.m. in the library fireplace room. It is open to the public.
