BUFFALO – The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a lake effect snow warning for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Erie Counties until 6 p.m. est this evening. An additional 6 to 9 inches of snow could fall throughout the day – with west winds at 15 to 25 mph and some gusts reaching up to 40 mph.
Motorists and residents can expect frequent whiteouts in heavy snow and areas of blowing snow will result in very difficult driving conditions today.
Chautauqua Lake Central school, Clymer, Pine Valley, Northern Chautauqua Catholic and Ripley are closed for today. Sherman is running on a two hour delay.
