JAMESTOWN – Some rumors at Jamestown High School have led to both parents and students being on edge the past few days, but according to the Jamestown Police Department, no credible evidence has been found to substantiate any of them.
The Post-Journal this morning says the department has been working with the Jamestown Public Schools District regarding rumors of a threat against the High School. The rumor involved “someone who threatened they would come (into the school) and do harm.” An investigation, however, turned up no credible evidence of any threat, which was passed along to Jamestown police by a resource officer in the high school.
Jamestown Public Schools was also aware of the situation the past couple of days and did work to inform parents that they knew about the threats and were looking into it. In addition, school superintendent Deke Kathman says the district has no reason to suspect that the safety of students has been compromised.
