JAMESTOWN – The new superintendent for Jamestown Public Schools has officially assumed his role as the top administrator of the county’s largest school district. During the first board meeting of the new school year on Tuesday, newly appointed superintendent Tim Mains was sworn into office.
According to an article in the Jamestown Post-Journal, the school board will also begin the search for a new board member after long-time board member Tim Thomas resigned from his post. The reason for the resignation was due to Thomas relocating to an area outside of the school district.
According to today’s article, the board will accept resumes and letters of intent from interested parties through a deadline date of Sept. 1. The board will then discuss potential candidates during its Sept. 10 board meeting.
