WASHINGTON – Congressman Brian Higgins announced Chautauqua County’s Jamestown Airport has been awarded $199,131 in federal funding through the United States Department of Transportation. In a prepared statement, Higgins said the funds will be used to improve transportation efficiency and safety at an airport that plays an important role in keeping and growing local business opportunities as well as providing commercial service to the region. Specifically, the federal money will improve safety at the airport by replacing airfield guidance signage, which is now over 20-years old.
