FORESTVILLE – A village in northern Chautauqua County is looking into dissolving itself and becoming an unincorporated community.
YNN News is reporting that the Forestville village board Tuesday night voted to form a Dissolution Study Advisory Committee. According to the report, the committee will be made up of elected leaders and residents of the village, appointed by the Mayor. The Village, which has a population of just under 700, would also hold several public input meetings during the study period.
Several villages in Western New York have been dissolved since 2009, including the villages of Limestone, East Randolph, Randolph and Perrysburg in Cattaraugus County.
