MAYVILLE – County Executive Greg Edwards is touting the Chautauqua County Discount card program, which was launched in 2009. The County Executive says since that time, County residents have filled more than 90,000 prescriptions and saved over $2.6 million dollars by using this free discount card.
The county partnered with ProAct, Inc. to provide financial relief for residents who are uninsured or under-insured and needed to fill prescriptions. This program was made available through ProAct, Inc. at no cost to Chautauqua County or participants.
According to Edwards, the program offers residents a hassle-free way to save money. There are no enrollment forms to fill out, no membership fees, and no age or income requirements. The prescription discount card can be used at any pharmacy in the area and at over 55,000 pharmacies nationwide.
Prescription Drug Discount Cards are available at many local pharmacies and at various Chautauqua County departments. Residents with computer access can print a card any time by visiting the ProAct website at www.NYRxDiscountCard.com.
