JAMESTOWN – A local foundation that provides help and assistance to dozens of groups and thousands of people throughout Chautauqua County is celebrating a major milestone this year.
Thirty-five years ago, a group of community members came together with a vision for the Chautauqua Region. These men and women volunteered their time and talents and focused on growing unrestricted endowment assets to address emerging, community issues. Since then, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation has welcomed its role as a leader and facilitator on many important issues throughout our Region. Most recently, the Foundation has taken an active stance on addressing the needs of Chautauqua Lake, WCA Hospital and education in our schools.
To date, over $6 million has been awarded to local nonprofit organizations for projects and initiatives to improve our community.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of CRCF, the organization has launched the Caring and Giving Campaign. By promoting and raising awareness of unknown future needs, the Caring and Giving Campaign pays tribute to the beliefs of the founders of CRCF.
