JAMESTOWN – City lawmakers will be meeting tonight in city hall for a work session to review and discuss several items on this month’s agenda.
At 7:15 tonight the Jamestown City Council’s public works committee will meet to review a proposal to abandon a portion of Lafayette St. in Jamestown, located between Second and Third Streets. City Development Director Jeff Lehman tells WRFA that three property owners in the area (Jamestown Savings Bank Arena, Shawbucks and BWB Building) have come forward to request the street be abandoned so it can free up more parking.
The plan was already approved by the city planning commission last month. It will now go to the city council for its review and action.
Also tonight the city’s finance committee and public safety committee will be meeting to discussion routine business. The full council will hold a work session at 7:30 p.m. All meetings are on the fourth floor of city hall and are open to the public.
