JAMESTOWN – A Jamestown man was sent to jail Monday morning following an accident near downtown that knocked over a utility pole. Jamestown Police were called to the area of West 5th and 6th Streets around 12:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a traffic accident and upon arrival found an abandoned vehicle on the scene along with a utility pole lying on the ground. Through an investigation, police were able to identify the driver of the vehicle, 49 year-old Harold Slagle, and place him under arrest. He was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident.
