JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown City Council will be meeting tonight in city hall for its first work session for the month of February.
Among the issues to be discussed tonight is the abandonment of a street in downtown Jamestown near the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena. The council’s public works committee will met at 7:15 p.m. to discuss the abandonment of Lafayette St. between W. 2nd and W. 3rd Street. The street sits between the Ice Arena property and the recently constructed BWB building and other nearby property.
The council’s public safety committee also will be meeting at 7 p.m. to discuss several routine agenda items. In addition, the panel will discuss traffic speed concerns in the area of Parkview Avenue and also recent noise complaints in the area of Sherman Street. And also at 7 p.m., the council’s finance committee will met to discuss several items on the agenda.
The full council will hold a regular work session, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
