JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown City Council will be holding its monthly voting session tonight in city hall with several items on the agenda. Among the items to be acted on is the a Tax Equivalency Payment Agreement between the city and four properties belonging to Lutheran Social Services. During last week’s council work session, Jamestown Mayor Sam Teresi says the agreement has been several months in the making.
The city council will also act on a resolution supporting The Resource Center’s application for consolidated funding for the proposed Community Health Services Center. However, the resolution comes only after city officials requested language in the resolution be changed, encouraging the Resource Center to use a location that is in a commercially zoned area, not in the industrial area it currently has is sites on. TRC officials say they would like to build the facility on a vacant piece of shovel-ready property on Harrison St.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers. A work session will take place at 7:00 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public.
