JAMESTOWN – The effort to expand the Riverwalk Trail in Jamestown will be moving forward.
On Monday night, the Jamestown city Council approved two resolutions dealing with the development of the Chadakoin Riverwalk Trail. One deals with an application to move the expansion of the trail on the north side of the river. According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, eventually that portion will connect with the south side of the river and continue on behind the train station. Further down the road, that section will actually connect with McCrea’s Point.
The applications go in to the New York State Regional Economic Development Council. City officials should know if the grant proposals have been accepted within one month to six weeks.
