JAMESTOWN – The Audubon Center and Sanctuary in Jamestown is promoting upcoming area clean-ups during the month of September. Whether you are a resident of Chautauqua County or the Warren area, there are opportunities to clean up area waterways right in your backyard.
Saturday, Sept. 8 is the Chadakoin River Clean-up. Volunteers will come together to help brighten up the downtown riverfront between Warner Dam and Winsor Street. Water levels will be lowered to allow participants to walk safely along the riverbed.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Fire Training Center, 241 Harrison Street, and the clean-up will conclude at 1:30 p.m. Volunteers should be prepared to get wet and wear clothes they won’t mind getting dirty.
WRFA will have more details on the cleanup during tonight’s episode of Community Matters, when we talk with local businessman and clean up volunteer Dan Myers. The program will air at 6 p.m.
