MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County Legislature’s Human Services Committee met yesterday and the focus of discussion was the Chautauqua County Home and its 2013 operating budget. The Post-Journal reports that county home administrator Tim Helwig went over the numbers yesterday with committee members, saying the home is will end up with a $716,600 loss next year. That’s compared to the $2.7 million deficit this year. Hellwig also said $2.6 million in county local share and government funds is what will boost the home’s revenue accounts next year and keep it from seeing a multi-million dollar deficit.
The Legislature’s Audit and Control Committee, which is responsible for overseeing all spending in the county, will have its first budget meeting Friday morning at 9 a.m. in Mayville. It is open to the public.
