KIANTONE – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says a medical emergency is what caused an Erie-Pennsylvania school bus carry 30 people went off the road and into a ditch during an accident Tuesday night in Kiantone.
The bus was carrying High school swimmers from Cathedral Preparatory and Villa Maria Academy in Erie and was returning from a swim meet in Warren when it left the roadway on Route 62.
Kiantone Fire Department officials said the bus was carrying 28 kids, two coaches and the driver. No students were hurt.
The 43 year old driver, who was not identified, was taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown for unknown injuries.
Another bus from Warren picked the kids up and took them back to Erie.
