JAMESTOWN – A 43-year-old man was killed in an auto incident Monday night when he reportedly walked into the southbound traffic lane and into the path of a vehicle on Washington Street near 13th Street. According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, Jamestown Police Officers responded to the scene of the car/pedestrian accident at 9:12 p.m. The pedestrian – who’s name has not been released – was transported to WCA Hospital where he later died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident. The driver of the vehicle was not injured. All four lanes of traffic on Washington Street between 12th and 14th streets were closed just after 9:30 p.m. The investigation into the accident is continuing with assistance from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department’s accident reconstruction team.
